Moving weekend!

We are offically all moved in!! It only took a day to move in because we have some awesome friends and family that helped with the moving and my mom, aunt and cousin helped with the packing all day sunday! It is starting to look like a house. I despise the look of boxes in the house, it makes me feel like there is an enormous amount of unpacking to do so you will notice there are no boxes in the pictures!! (hint hint there are no pictures of the garage where all the boxes are now stored!)

We absolutely love our little home!! I can't believe it's actually ours! We can punch a hole in the wall...but then WE would have to fix it and we are not very handy people. Other than trips to home depot with the parents as kids, we are home depot virgins who don't know a thing about fixing household things. I can't wait until my engineer brother in law Mike comes to down next year to help with things I'm sure need fixing!!

For now, Jeff and I will attempt to try and fix things. The first thing on our list is to fix a few things outside. We are trying not to rush everything because we know that fixing a house takes time and patience. Something we will be working on!

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes....

....Before you jump to what you think may be the next phrase it is actually....

JEFF AND I ARE IN ESCROW!! If everything goes to plan we will be in before Thanksgiving! Hopefully we can have a wonderful house warming party around Christmas time, or new years....whenever the boxes are gone!

The babies will come next, just not anytime soon MOM! :)

In Loving Memory...

We felt it was very important for Jeff and I to post this. Cliff and Christine Levy have been in the Scott family's life for a long time. Christine had been battling breast cancer for a long time now. She had fought and beat it before, but it came back less than 2 years ago with news there would be no recovery this time. They have two beautiful kids, Ceight, 13 and Ian, 11 and you can see their mother's strength is with them. Cliff married us only 3 months ago and we are so glad Christine was able to share that day with us. We have pictures of her that we will always cherish.

Christine's courage with cancer is something I will always remember. She reminded me that we really do need to appreciate our time here, but not to be afraid of the future. She was a beautiful mother, wife and friend to everyone and her memory will never fade.

MARTHA CHRISTINE TAYLOR

TAYLOR, MARTHA CHRISTINE Dr. Martha Christine Taylor, a resident of Rancho Bernardo born January 5, 1965, died on October 10, 2010 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Christine passed away peacefully at her home with family and friends by her side. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, to Terry and Eleanor Taylor. She grew up with her younger brother Scott in Evanston, Illinois. She graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1983 and earned her bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Illinois, Chicago. In 1988, she moved to California and attended the California School of Professional Psychology where she earned her master's degree and doctorate. During this time, she met her husband, Cliff Levy. They were married in 1994 and had two children, Catherine, born in 1996, and Ian, born in 1999. Christine was a gifted clinical psychologist who took great satisfaction in helping her patients find purpose and joy in their lives. She also maintained a forensic practice serving the California criminal justice system. Christine had an insatiable appetite for learning and occupied her free time reading about natural history, ecology and the history of the Southwest. She loved yoga, gardening and hiking in the Anza Borrego desert. However, she will be remembered as a devoted mother, wife, sister and daughter who treasured her children, her husband, her family and her friends above all else. Christine lived her life with grace, dignity and beauty - she left it with quiet bravery. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held October 30th, 10 a.m. to Noon at Rancho Bernardo Courtyard, 16935 W. Bernardo Dr. SD 92127. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be sent to Susan G. Komen for the Cure : http://ww5.komen.org.

I work here:

Well, actually I work in a cubicle that's about 200 ft away from this, but I thought you guys could see what I see every time I step away from my desk. A giant factory of printing presses.

This is my company :)

I am an associate at Rush going through every single department in this printing company. They want us to eventually go into sales, but we will see!

Back to School?

The summer is almost over and I cannot believe how fast it went! My friends are all getting ready to go back to school and I have to admit I'm bummed I'm not getting back to school supplies and I will miss going to classes and all those afternoon naps! There is something so comforting about school, the routine of it all, but now I have to step away from the comfort zone and into the "real world."

It's amazing to me to look at where Jeff and I started, I don't think we ever realistically saw each other in full time jobs and actually making real life decisions. Our first phone conversation, almost 6 years ago now lasted for 3 hours and we talked in detail about the island we would live on after we had won the lottery and the plane we would have brought so we could visit anytime we wanted. The future sounded so easy!

The past couple of weeks for us we have both gone on business trips, which is very different to travel without one another and it's bittersweet to know these trips are hard now, but will only be routine in the future. For now we will have to appreciate the time we are together, even if it's not what we want or on the island we won after winning the lottery.

Last week we received our wedding photos and video. The video is beautiful and yes you all look great! Although my wonderful, beautiful, adorable flower girls are the stars of the whole thing! I will be getting the negatives in the upcoming weeks, so for now you can see a highlight slideshow of the photos.

Honeymoon

Finally I am getting around to blogging about our honeymoon! It was wonderful, we spent 10 glorious days at the Sandals Resort, Whitehouse in beautiful Jamaica :) Our days were spent lounging by the pool or beach for a few hours, enjoying the daily thunderstorms that lasted no more than an hour and then dressing up and going to a nice restaurant in the evening. One night we got a candlelight dinner on the beach, which was amazing. We also got to go on the zipline canopy, which was very exciting for me, terrifying for Jeff (he was glad he did it though). It was a trip just what we needed after over 10 months of life keeping us busy.

As of now, we are enjoying being married. I start my new job in a month, Jeff is back to his busy work schedule and we are swallowing our prides and moving back in with good ole' mom and dad. As newlyweds?! Why yes, isn't that what your supposed to do?! We want to save for a house and the only way we can afford to live in the beautiful city we currently live in, we must save for a down payment and that means, mom and dad don't start turning my room into a gym quite yet!

I think we are in for some very interesting adventures over the coming months! I can't believe it's August already, next thing we know the holidays are just around the corner!
