Over spring break last week we went on a canoeing trip with Aztec Adventures where we canoed upstream to the Hoover Dam. There were 12 other people in our group; mostly SDSU students and 2 guides. This was a first for me as I am definitely not a camper and Jeff, an Eagle Scout, has been doing this kind of stuff since he was a kid. We both didn't think it would be as intense as the trip turned out to be, but it was an adventure to say the least. In total we canoed upstream about 9 miles against about 30 mile an hour winds. Our campsite had natural hot springs that were very nice ranging from 90-120 degrees. The third day we did some bouldering, meaning we climbed very large rocks, some even having ropes just to get up! We headed back downstream on the last day, which was quite a relief for the whole group. Our arms were tired and our legs were bruised, but we survived! Here are some pictures from the trip!
